What a holiday is worth · official data
Direct answer: A typical long weekend puts Foz hotels 10 to 24 points above the month's average. The biggest measured effect is Labor Day (May 1) (+23.7 points over its month). The exception is Christmas: the only extended holiday that does NOT fill hotels — it stays at or below the month's average.
Foz's Tourism Secretariat has measured hotel occupancy for every extended holiday since 2021 — including hoteliers' expectations before each one. This page crosses that official data with the monthly average and shows what a long weekend really does to the city.

How to read: realized occupancy = average of measured years (2021–2026). Month average = mean occupancy of the month the holiday falls in (ex-2021). Effect = the difference, in percentage points.
Expectation × reality
Before each extended holiday, SMTU asks hotels how full they expect to be. On average, REALIZED occupancy beat expectations by +3.8 percentage points. Holiday demand in Foz surprises upward — useful for pricing and staffing.
