When to go · real seasonality
Direct answer: Fewer crowds and cheaper hotels: May, June and Feb–Mar (outside Carnival). Fullest (and liveliest): July and January — hotels top 74% occupancy and every attraction peaks. Spring (Sep–Nov) is the middle ground.

Each attraction has its own calendar — the Landmark is the most "January", the Bird Park the most "July", Itaipu has a second spring peak.

In the official 2024/25 demand survey, Paraguayan shopping ranked 2nd most-visited (790 mentions) — ahead of the Landmark (534), Bird Park (523) and Itaipu (448).

At Itaipu, the 2nd-largest audience is Paraguay (1.01 million cumulative, 5.7× Argentina). At the National Park, it is Argentina (1.96 million).

46% of tourists fly in — but bus (23%) and car (23%) add up to nearly half. July, the year's peak, is strongly road-driven.
