7 September Parade in Foz do Iguaçu draws 3.8k participants

The ceremony takes place between Costa e Silva Avenue and Duque de Caxias Avenue, from 9 a.m. to noon, on Monday, September 7.

The event begins with the raising of the flags and the performance of the National Anthem and the Independence Anthem. Afterwards, the mayor inspects the troops, with the first unit expected to enter at 9:30 a.m.

The parade mobilizes 42 groups and about 60 military and operational vehicles. The education network participates with roughly 2.6 thousand students. The procession includes representations from the Brazilian Navy (Paraná River Flotilla), the 34th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, the Fire Department, the Federal Revenue Service, the Municipal Guard and schools.

Traffic

Avenida Paraná is closed starting September 4. On September 4 and 5 there is a partial blockage for the installation of structures; on September 6 a segment is fully closed. On September 7 the closure extends from the intersection with Avenida José Maria de Brito to Avenida Costa e Silva, including side access roads.

Foztrans recommends avoiding Avenida Paraná and using alternative routes throughout the period. Traffic returns to normal by 5 p.m. on the 7th. Those who plan to watch should arrive early.
