The meeting, held at the Rectorate of the National University of the East (UNE), was attended by the Minister of Tourism and representatives from public and private institutions, such as the city hall, the government, the national police, ANDE, and ESSAP.

Ashotel president engineer Agustín Portillo Pineda highlighted that the main problems are security, cleanliness, traffic, infrastructure, and the quality of public services, especially electricity and potable water. He stated that the meeting was positive and that he hopes the commitments will turn into concrete actions.

Portillo emphasized that tourism benefits the entire community and that coordination between the public and private sectors is essential to make the city more attractive. He also mentioned that events such as Paraguay Business Week and Black Friday, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism of Ciudad del Este, should generate high hotel occupancy.

Ashotel stresses the need for continued meetings and that the commitments made should result in concrete actions.
