Construction of Lúcia Marlene School Starts in Foz do Iguaçu

The move meets a request from the school community. The new building will be located in Jardim Social, at Praça das Aroeiras, with a 22‑month deadline for completion.

Lowe Construção Civil Ltda won the bid and signed a contract worth R$ 8,299,708.35, financed with municipal resources. Work started on Thursday (June 17, 2026), with the installation of fences, terrain level checks, and site marking.

The project covers a total area of 3,023.81 m² and includes 13 classrooms with capacity for 420 students, as well as a computer lab, library, multipurpose space, kitchen, covered court, cafeteria, and administrative sector. The structure will also feature a sensory garden primarily for neurodivergent children and an outdoor classroom.

The original plan called for only six classrooms. After adjustments determined by the municipal administration, the facility was expanded to allow full‑time education.

The project was announced in 2025, when hydraulic, electrical, and fire‑prevention designs began. In February 2026, the bidding process was opened to hire the construction company.
