Tarobá Space under renovation in Iguaçu National Park

The reconstruction of the Tarobá Space is the first scheduled intervention for the Waterfall Trail within the expansion and modernization plan for the conservation unit.

The new space will be fully accessible, with ground-level flooring integrated into the trail. The structure will house restrooms and a food service point on the ground floor, while the roof will feature an upper lookout for viewing and photographing the landscape.

By 2030, the trail segment will have a wide, paved path that cuts through the vegetation, equipped with guardrails and platforms that project toward the scenery, creating specific observation points without disrupting visitor flow.

During construction, food and restroom services operate from a kiosk located approximately 150 meters ahead of the Tarobá Space, in the direction of the trail.

Urbia+Cataratas, the concessionaire responsible for the park’s tourism management, emphasizes that the intervention is temporary. According to the company, up to 2030 an investment of R$ 600 million will be made in the conservation unit.

Iguaçu National Park is administered by the Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade (ICMBio) and is recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
