Foz Airport Sets August Record with 261,000 Passengers

Second consecutive historic record for the terminal in two months
The Foz do Iguaçu airport handled 261,375 people in August, surpassing July's own record (258,907 passengers). It is the highest monthly flow in 52 years of operation.
Compared with August 2025, when 194,855 travelers passed through the airport, the growth reaches 34.1%, equivalent to 66,520 additional passengers. In the same period, aircraft operations increased from 1,691 to 2,108 movements, a rise of 24.7%.
From January to August 2026, the terminal processed 1,906,194 passengers. By July, the year-to-date total was 1,644,819 travelers, 22.5% above the same period in 2025.
The airport offers direct flights to ten domestic destinations (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Brasília and Campinas among them) and one international destination: Santiago, Chile.
According to terminal manager Vinícius Bueno, infrastructure investments made in recent years have allowed the airport to keep up with growing demand. The airport serves as the main air gateway to the Iguaçu Falls, as well as visitors to Parque das Aves, Usina Hidrelétrica de Itaipu and Marco das Três Fronteiras, and also handles business traffic from western Paraná and the border region.
