Data collection runs until September 24 at bus terminal and airport
Foz do Iguaçu is taking part in the National Tourist Demand Survey from September 16 to 24, aiming to map visitor profiles, habits, and spending. The municipality is one of 50 selected nationwide for the study, which will interview 22,500 tourists across Brazil.

Data collection in Foz takes place at the International Bus Terminal and the International Airport of Foz do Iguaçu – Cataratas (IGU), coordinated by the Foz Tourism Observatory and the Municipal Tourism Secretariat (SMTU). The local goal is to administer about 450 questionnaires.
Researchers, identified with badges, cover topics such as travel motivation, transportation used, type of accommodation, length of stay, expenditures, and evaluation of the tourist experience.
The initiative is linked to the National Sustainable Tourism Observatory, managed by Itaipu Parquetec in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, with technical execution by the Brazilian Network of Tourism Observatories (RBOT).
According to the Municipal Tourism Secretariat, the results should support public policies, tourism promotion actions, service improvements, and investment decisions throughout Brazil. Foz's participation reinforces the city's commitment to data-driven planning.
