Foz do Iguaçu reaches 92% hotel occupancy on holiday

Foz do Iguaçu recorded an average occupancy of 92% in hotels and inns during the Independence Day holiday, according to a survey by the Municipal Tourism Secretariat. The figure surpassed the initial forecast of 88% and matched the best performance of 2026, achieved on the Tiradentes holiday.
The survey covered 101 of the 113 licensed lodging establishments monitored by the Municipal Tourism Secretariat, representing 89% of the facilities.
The performance also outpaced previous periods. In 2021, occupancy was 65% on the same holiday, while in 2023 it reached 91%.
Among lodging types, inns achieved a 100% average occupancy, while hotels reached 91%. In the 2023 holiday, inns recorded 90% and hotels 91%. In 2021, the rates were 70% and 65%, respectively.
According to the Municipal Tourism Secretariat, the numbers reflect the attractiveness of Foz do Iguaçu as a destination during extended holiday periods.
