Marco Três newsroom · edited by Annie GrellmannEspañolPortuguês

Mandatory border document and restrictions take effect on August 14

The Integration Bridge, which connects Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil) to Presidente Franco (Paraguay), now requires a specific document and a time-slot authorization for local residents. The changes, effective since August 14, 2026, aim to increase security and control at the border.

Who can cross and when

Residents of Foz do Iguaçu, Ciudad del Este, Hernandarias and Presidente Franco are allowed to cross the bridge between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., provided they present a valid border document. Outside this window, crossing is not authorized for regional residents.

Document costs

Brazilian citizens pay approximately R$ 205 for the border document, while Paraguayans pay about R$ 65. The documentation is checked by National Force agents and customs auditors right after leaving the bridge.

Vehicle requirements

The vehicle must be registered in the driver’s name. Otherwise, the owner must carry a valid power of attorney. All occupants must present the required documentation. Currently, the transport of goods across the bridge is not permitted.

Consequences of lacking documentation

Drivers and passengers without the border document must return to their country of origin and use the International Friendship Bridge as an alternative crossing.

Real-time monitoring

The portal Catve.com provides a live camera showing the flow of people and vehicles on the Integration Bridge, allowing users to assess conditions before crossing.
