International trucks get exclusive route in Foz
Marco Três newsroom · edited by Annie Grellmann
East Perimeter becomes mandatory corridor for import and export cargo
Starting Monday, June 22, import and export trucks originating in Argentina or bound for international markets must use the East Perimeter Highway in Foz do Iguaçu. The measure follows tests conducted by the Federal Revenue Service, PRF, Foztrans, DNIT and EPR.

New corridor for international cargo
After a testing period involving federal and municipal agencies, the Federal Revenue Service formalizes a change in foreign trade logistics. The East Perimeter Highway becomes a mandatory route for freight vehicles with origin or destination in Argentina and other international markets.
Expected benefits
The East Perimeter was built specifically for this purpose: to divert heavy traffic from the urban core and establish a dedicated corridor between the Tancredo Neves Bridge, the Brazilian customs facility, and BR‑277. With the mandatory use, the expectation is to reduce truck traffic on city streets, improve road safety, and speed up the movement of international shipments.
Official presentation
Details of the ordinance and consolidated results of the experimental operation will be presented at a press conference at 8:30 a.m.
