Itaipu Binacional held on Saturday, August 22, in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, a performance of the choreography "The Song of My Jungle" to celebrate Paraguayan Folklore Day. The performance, directed by professor Cynthia Echagüe with choreography by professor Ángel Ovelar, revives Paraguay's natural and cultural richness through music and dance. The piece draws inspiration from compositions by Paraguayan musician Herminio Giménez, who used sounds of nature as a source of creation.

The choreography’s narrative recreates bird songs, the murmur of water, and the wildlife of the Paraguayan forest, culminating in a finale that symbolizes the birth of a new day. The dam’s infrastructure and protected areas served as the setting for the staging.

The Paraguay Tekoete Ensemble secured first place in the Popular Dances – Senior Group category at the Joinville Dance Festival in its 43rd edition, held on July 23. According to Itaipu Binacional, the initiative highlights the relationship between Paraguay’s cultural and natural heritage, fundamental dimensions for building and preserving national identity.
