Foz do Iguaçu hosts the CAIXA Youth Games from October 19 to November 3, bringing together about 5,000 athletes aged 13 to 17 — the largest participant count in the event’s history. Disciplines take place in various city locations: cycling on Avenida Pedro Basso; badminton and archery at Centro de Convivência Arnaldo Isidoro; artistic and rhythmic gymnastics at Centro de Convivência BUBAS; judo, virtual rowing, handball, and futsal at Centro de Convenções (Salão Cataratas); taekwondo, wrestling, and fencing at Salão Itaipu; athletics, swimming, handball, and futsal at Complexo Esportivo Costa Cavalcanti; table tennis, handball, and futsal at Ginásio Cidade Nova; volleyball and basketball at Ginásio da Guarda Mirim and Ginásio Xororó; handball and futsal at Ginásio Ronaldo Nunes (Morumbi); triathlon and open water at Iate Clube (ICLI); volleyball and basketball at Ginásio do Instituto Federal do Paraná (IFPR); beach volleyball at Prainha de Três Lagoas; volleyball at Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana (UNILA).
Event structure
Over 2,000 people work to run the Games, including coaches, technical assistants, referees, officials, volunteers, and members of the Organizing Committee. In addition to Brazilian athletes, three international delegations compete in athletics, triathlon, and virtual rowing.
