Km 10 Overpass in Ciudad del Este reaches 57% completion

Advances in paving and structure

The pavement of the traffic-detour roads has been completed in the Acaray (north) and Monday (south) neighborhoods, with only horizontal and vertical signage remaining. Avenue Km 10 Acaray received its final asphalt layer, while Avenue Km 10 Monday continues with stone paving.

In the main structure, the longitudinal beams of the north and south overpasses are already installed. The south overpass completed the placement of precast slabs and concrete casting of the deck slab. Concrete work on the New Jersey-type side barrier is underway, and the placement of precast slabs on the north overpass continues for later deck casting.

Next steps

Work on the north collector road (San Blas Avenue) and south collector road (Monseñor Rodríguez Avenue) continues with earthmoving, drainage, and sub-base construction. Access ramps to the north and south overpasses, as well as the east-side return, are in the earth-moving phase.

The project provides four lanes on the overpass and collector roads, with turn-backs and pedestrian crossings. The intervention will connect kilometers 8.5 and 12 of route PY02, improving traffic flow, safety, and access to commercial, industrial, and residential zones.

Currently, the Traffic Detour Plan is in phase 5, with route PY02 blocked in the work zone and vehicle flow channeled through the opened collector roads.
