From the Cataratas Half Marathon to New Year's Eve — the calendar worth saving
Foz do Iguaçu has an annual calendar that repeats: the Cataratas Half Marathon in May, Fartal and FIT Cataratas in June (the city's anniversary month, June 10), and the Cataratas New Year's Eve closing the year. The full official schedule is maintained by the Tourism Department.
May — Cataratas Half Marathon: thousands of athletes run a course inside the National Park, passing in front of the falls. In 2026 it was on May 16-17; registration opens months in advance.
June — Foz's anniversary month (June 10):
- Fartal — the traditional Crafts and Food Fair, with national shows, typical food and local culture (in 2026: 46th edition, June 10 to 14, at CTG Charrua)
- FIT Cataratas — International Tourism Festival, one of the largest tourism business fairs in Latin America (in 2026: June 10 to 12)
December — Cataratas New Year's Eve: New Year celebrations with a structure of shows and dinner, plus the public festivities.
All year round: sporting events, food festivals and dates of the city's Arab, Paraguayan and Argentine communities — Foz is one of the most multicultural cities in Brazil.
