3 Margins Festival shows 43 films in Foz, Puerto Iguazú and Ciudad del Este

The festival, in its eighth edition, received more than 300 films for evaluation and selected works from Brazil, other Latin American countries, and co-productions with Cuba and the United States. In Brazil, the productions represent Amazonas, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Roraima, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná and the Federal District. Internationally, the program includes titles from Argentina (Santa Fe, Buenos Aires and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires), Paraguay (Asunción and Ñeembucú), Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay.

The competitive showcase Afluentes will gather short films from Latin America and the Caribbean; Entre Rios will screen films made in Paraná, the Argentine province of Misiones and Paraguayan departments, except Asunción. The University Showcase will be dedicated to shorts by students or alumni of Latin American educational institutions, while the Panorama Showcase will present feature films out of competition. There will also be a Kids Showcase (children’s films) and Cine Bairro (productions for the whole family). The Not Just Scares showcase will complete the program for horror and suspense fans.

All showcases will be free to the public, according to the organizers. The thematic axis of this edition is belonging, addressed through relationships among people, origins, places and bonds, exploring migration, ancestry, affections and collective resistance.
