Foz do Iguaçu expands care with new specialist doctors

The expansion comes after a period in which these specialties faced a shortage of professionals, affecting the availability of appointments. The accreditation of the new specialists was completed through a public notice coordinated by the Specialized Care Directorate.

Patients awaiting care will be called according to the clinical priority criteria defined by the Municipal Health Department, ensuring that the most urgent cases are served first.

Sheila Rodrigues Paião, director of the Department of Specialized Care and Mental Health, said the expansion of services will continue in the coming months, with new professionals in the process of accreditation for these same specialties and searches for professionals in other areas.

Patients awaiting consultations, exams or surgeries should go to the nearest Basic Health Unit to update their registration data, such as phone number and address. This update is necessary for the teams to be able to contact them at the time of scheduling.
