The survey conducted by the Municipal Tourism Secretariat (SMTU) indicates that 88% of hotels and 90% of guesthouses in Foz do Iguaçu will be occupied during the Our Lady of Aparecida holiday on October 12. These numbers exceed projections from previous years when the date coincided with an extended holiday.

In 2021, the expected occupancy was 65% for hotels and 29% for guesthouses. In 2023, the rates were 85% for hotels and 80% for guesthouses. For the 2026 holiday, demand is considered high across different lodging categories.

Sheila Domingues, head of the Statistics and Tourism Studies Division (DVEET), highlighted that the 88% occupancy projection reflects the strong tourist demand in Foz do Iguaçu and reinforces the importance of continuous monitoring of tourism indicators.

The survey included participation from 99 of the 112 lodging establishments with a current license in Foz do Iguaçu that are part of the division’s monthly monitoring.
