Tourist attractions boost staff and offer special programs from September 4 to 7

Occupancy of lodging establishments in Foz do Iguaçu is projected to exceed 81% during the extended Independence holiday, according to Sindhotéis. Hotels, attractions, bars and restaurants in the city are preparing to receive tourists from Friday (Sept. 4) to Monday (Sept. 7) with reinforced teams.

The association’s president, Fernando Rodrigues Dias, noted that today’s traveler seeks comfort, safety and quality service. Hotels in Foz have been investing in property upgrades and staff training to meet this demand.

Attractions open

Iguazú National Park will be open from Saturday to Monday (Sept. 5-7) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The waterfalls recorded a flow of more than 8.3 million liters per second on Wednesday (Sept. 2), five times the average, due to rains in the Iguazú River basin. Attendance is expected to exceed 25,000 visitors over the holiday.

The Three Borders Landmark will operate on the 5th, 6th and 7th from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with free entry for residents of Foz do Iguaçu (photo ID and proof of residence required).

The Water Show at Wonder Park is also free for Foz residents starting Friday (Sept. 4) upon presenting proof of residence at the ticket office.

Parque das Aves will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. At Itaipu Binacional, the Itaipu Panoramic tour departs every 30 minutes between 8:15 a.m. and 5 p.m.; the Bela Vista Biological Refuge and the Ecomuseum are also open. AquaFoz will serve visitors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the holiday. Zoo Park Foz operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with raptor flight shows at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
