Aquaculture congress runs September 2-4 with market, technology and health debates
The International Fish Congress & Fish Expo Brazil (IFC Brazil) opens registrations for its 8th edition, scheduled for September 2-4 in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). Fish farmers registered in CAD/PRO have free access to the event.
The meeting brings together producers, researchers, companies and public officials to discuss the challenges of Brazilian aquaculture in market, technology, health and innovation.
Fish farmers enrolled in CAD/PRO can attend the three-day program free of charge by providing their registration number at the time of sign-up.
The opening takes place on day 2 at 9 a.m. with a lecture by former Agriculture Minister Roberto Rodrigues on changes in the global economic order and their impact on agribusiness and the fish market. On the same day, panels will address exports, imports, tariffs and market access, featuring Embrapa, ApexBrasil, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
On days 3 and 4, the agenda includes discussions on tilapia prices and profitability, production systems, nutrition, probiotics, biosecurity, genetic improvement and aquaculture insurance. Parallel activities cover tilapia production in reservoirs, Aquaculture 5.0, small-scale agro-industries, export, bioflocs and artisanal fishing.
The event occurs during a period of expansion: Brazilian fish farming surpassed 1 million tons in 2025, with tilapia accounting for 707.5 thousand tons (about 70% of cultivated fish production).
