Park receives Cerne 4 certification, the highest maturity level in innovation ecosystems
Itaipu Parquetec, in Foz do Iguaçu, earned the Cerne 4 certification and joins the exclusive group of only seven innovation environments in Brazil with this recognition. The certification, granted by Anprotec in partnership with Sebrae, validates the consolidation of processes in management, entrepreneurship, and business development.
The park was recertified in 2026, after first achieving Cerne 4 in 2022. The recognition assesses the capacity of incubators, accelerators, and similar environments across three fronts: consolidation of internal processes, network engagement, and continuous generation of innovative ventures.
Currently, Itaipu Parquetec brings together more than 90 startups, three universities, laboratories, and hubs spread across western Paraná, as well as technological infrastructure and multidisciplinary teams. Over 25 technologies developed within the environment have reached the market in various sectors.
The journey began in 2006 with the creation of the Itaipu Parquetec Incubator and Accelerator. Over two decades, the space expanded its activities and incorporated new business support strategies. Entrepreneurs receive strategic guidance, access to specialists, connections with investors, and integration with the ecosystem. More than 2,000 students have already participated in entrepreneurship and innovation programs offered by the park.
