Mayors of northern Misiones meet with provincial secretaries to speed up local demands
Eleven municipalities from northern Misiones are participating in a work meeting in Puerto Iguazú, Argentina, starting at 10 a.m., with state secretaries and public agency leaders to address community urgencies. The format, based on thematic tables, allows municipal managers to present demands and follow up on files in a single day.

The president of the Association of Mayors of Northern Misiones (ADINM) and mayor of Puerto Libertad, Fernando Ferreira, highlighted the working‑table methodology that structures the gathering. According to him, the proximity of the provincial cabinet to the municipalities makes it possible to resolve in a few hours issues that normally require lengthy administrative procedures.
The 11 municipalities called are: Puerto Esperanza, Wanda, Puerto Libertad, Puerto Iguazú, Comandante Andresito, San Antonio, Bernardo de Irigoyen, Pozo Azul, Fracrán and Dos Hermanas. Ferreira noted that, although ADINM groups a total of 20 municipalities, this round focuses on the localities of the Iguazú department, since Eldorado and Montecarlo held their respective technical meetings earlier.
The meeting operates through tables composed of roughly four mayors each. State secretaries and heads of decentralized entities rotate sequentially among the tables, spending 30 minutes at each. During that time, municipal managers present new infrastructure and service demands, as well as track the progress of already filed requests.
Ferreira emphasized the role of Cabinet Coordinator Carlos Sartori, former mayor of Campo Grande, as a decisive factor for accelerating state responses. According to the official, Sartori’s experience leading a municipality helps him understand local priorities. The mayor of Puerto Libertad reaffirmed that the gathering follows an exclusively institutional agenda, detached from political considerations, and that the format is being replicated in other regions of Misiones.
