Meeting in Foz do Iguaçu discusses qualification and associativism in tourism
Representatives of hotel and tourism entities from Southwest Paraná visited the facilities of Sindhotéis and the Institute of Hospitality, Gastronomy and Tourism (IHGT) in Foz do Iguaçu on the morning of July 22. The meeting addressed professional training projects and strategies to strengthen the regional tourism sector.
The delegation, led by a representative of the Sindicato Empresarial de Hotéis, Bares, Restaurantes e Similares (SHBRS) of the Southwest, was received by the president of Sindhotéis and IHGT, Fernando Rodrigues Dias.
The program began with a networking breakfast, followed by the presentation of IHGT’s institutional video and a briefing on its professional training and capacity‑building initiatives. Elaine Tenerello, executive director of Visit Iguassu, presented the destination promotion strategies for Iguaçu.
The visitors toured the Institute’s facilities, seeing the industrial kitchen and model suite, spaces where courses on housekeeping, front‑office management, and gastronomy are held.
According to Fernando Rodrigues Dias, integration between regions is essential for tourism advancement. He emphasized that “exchanging experiences with leaders from other regions is a valuable thermometer” and that “associativism is the safest path to innovation.”
The Southwest delegation also included project managers from Sebrae, municipal tourism secretaries, and industry entrepreneurs. From Foz do Iguaçu, representatives of Visit Iguassu and Sebrae consultants participated.
