Puerto Iguazú activates security totem at Three Borders Landmark

The totem installed at the Three Borders Landmark features three upper panoramic cameras and a front-facing 180-degree Full HD camera with infrared night vision. The equipment provides continuous monitoring of the landmark area, the artisan sector, and the local Costanera, with real-time transmission to the operations center.

At the same time, authorities formalized the expansion of the video-surveillance network at strategic points in the urban core and peripheral neighborhoods of Puerto Iguazú, aiming to improve crime prevention and operational response capacity.

During the ceremony, Regional Unit V of the Misiones Police received a fleet of RugGear smartphones for patrolling and field work. The devices are highly resistant to impacts, water and dust, and include geolocation, georeferencing and safety buttons for remote monitoring by 911.

Officials also formally introduced the new officers assigned to Regional Unit V, who have begun operating in Puerto Iguazú facilities and neighboring municipalities in the northern zone. The incorporations are part of the provincial public-security strengthening plan, based on three pillars: technological innovation applied to surveillance, equipment for the forces, and expansion of human resources in border and tourist areas.
