Border cities advance cooperation to ease tourist circulation
Authorities from Puerto Iguazú, Argentina, and Presidente Franco, Paraguay, have finalized the details of a bilateral agreement that aims to expand inbound tourism and allow the movement of tourist vehicles between the two border cities. The document will be signed in about 15 days.

The meeting took place at the City Hall of Puerto Iguazú and included Leopoldo Lucas, secretary of the Centro Turístico Cultural Municipal; a councilor from Presidente Franco serving as chair of the International Affairs Committee; Julio González, tourism secretary; and representatives of the company Balsa do Iguazú.
The agreement will establish cooperation mechanisms between the two localities to boost tourist flow by leveraging the existing river connection through the ferry service. One of the main points will be to facilitate the transit of vehicles intended for tourism via the ferry that links Presidente Franco with Puerto Iguazú, expanding tourist circuits and promoting greater integration of attractions in both countries.
The initiative allows visitors to move more easily between the two cities, strengthening a regional tourism offering based on nature, culture, gastronomy and proximity to Triple Frontier destinations. The signing of the document will take place at the headquarters of the City Hall of Presidente Franco and will be attended by the mayors of both cities.
