Cultural Foundation launches Heritage Education Initiative with conservation specialist
The restoration of the Waterfall Mural, located on the façade of the Cultural Foundation of Foz do Iguaçu, starts this Thursday (the 8th) at 10 a.m. The work marks the launch of the Heritage Education Initiative, a permanent program dedicated to preserving the municipality’s cultural heritage.
The first phase of the work includes the participation of conservator Eva Zaldivar, a professional specialized in the conservation of historic and artistic assets who works in Ouro Preto (MG), a city recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980.
Before beginning the intervention on the mural, the team will conduct technical tests to assess the characteristics and condition of the materials, information that will guide the choice of restoration methods.
Zaldivar’s presence also enables Foz do Iguaçu to establish a dialogue with a city that has consolidated experience in protecting its historic and cultural collection.
According to the Cultural Foundation, the Heritage Education Initiative will operate continuously, with actions focused on preserving memory, valuing heritage, and educating future generations. The launch is open to the public and is expected to include representatives from universities, teachers, researchers, students, and professionals in the fields of culture, heritage, and restoration.
The Municipal Council of Culture and the Municipal Council of Cultural Heritage of Foz do Iguaçu support the initiative.
Event: Thursday (the 8th) at 10 a.m., at the Cultural Foundation of Foz do Iguaçu. Open access to the community.
