Local concessionaire takes over for 20 years with R$1,900 car fee and Telepase rollout

Camino Selva S.A., led by engineer Roberto Enríquez, will assume the concession of routes 12 and 105 in Misiones starting October 7, 2026, for a 20-year term. Beginning October 9, the toll for automobiles will be R$1,900 at the Colonia Victoria, Santa Ana, Fachinal and Ituzaingó booths.

The change marks the return of locally-run private management to the regional road network after months of preparation to meet the requirements of the national Ministry of Economy.

According to Enríquez, a concession model with a toll system is essential to keep the highways in good condition. "Once the pavement starts to crack and receive patches, deterioration accelerates quickly, making the road practically impassable and demanding far larger investments," he explained.

Works and investment

The work plan calls for an initial six-month emergency maintenance phase, starting at the Cerro Corá crossing and the Garupá area, with patching, milling, crack sealing, replacement of protective barriers, intersection lighting and grass cutting.

After that phase, the concessionaire will begin structural resurfacing of 500 kilometers of road. Enríquez confirmed that the resurfacing investment will be "very important," spread over five years, and that the company has already hired more than 100 workers for the tasks.

The management will also include monitoring freight transport to prevent overweight trucks from damaging the pavement.

Transition to Telepase

Starting October 9, the toll collection system will progressively stop accepting cash. During the transition, drivers will be able to pay with debit or credit cards, Mercado Pago, QR code or PIX for foreign tourists.

The concessionaire will provide Telepase devices free of charge at the booths to ease the shift to electronic payment. "We will hand out Telepase units to users and help them install them quickly," Enríquez said.

Future tariff adjustments will depend on the completion of the committed works.
