Solidarity race Taita Run 2026 in Ciudad del Este

The race takes place in the 23 de Octubre neighborhood, with a round-trip route starting at the orphanage’s headquarters and ending at the San Lucas church. The event aims to cover maintenance and repair costs of the building, which shows deterioration and leaks in several corridors.

The orphanage houses 36 elderly people under the administration of the Congregation of the Benedictine Sisters of Divine Providence since 1990. The director, Sister Selma María Da Costa, said that the previous 2025 edition helped cover part of staff salaries and partial renovations of the pavilions, but the funds were not enough for all needs.

Registrations and categories

There are 500 slots available for participants of all ages. Registration costs G. 150.000 with a kit (t-shirt and giveaway) or G. 130.000 without a kit. Cash prizes for the main women’s and men’s categories (divided by age groups from 20 to 70 years): G. 1.500.000 for first place, G. 1.000.000 for second, and G. 500.000 for third.

There are children’s categories according to age: up to 6 years (600 m), 7–8 years (800 m), 9–12 years (1.200 m) and 13–16 years (3.000 m). Inclusive options also include a 600-meter race for wheelchair users and for participants with strollers.

Event structure

The event includes on-site medical assistance, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, as well as traffic police and national police security along the route.
