How to visit Iguazu Falls on the Argentine side

Direct answer: Iguazú National Park sits 18 km from Puerto Iguazú, opens at 8:00 and closes at 18:00, with last entry around 16:00. Foreign visitors pay $60,000 pesos, and a second consecutive day costs half if the ticket is validated on the way out. The Devil's Throat walkway has been closed since 3 August 2026.

The discount almost nobody uses

A second consecutive day costs 50%. To qualify, the ticket must be validated on the way out, on the day of your first visit, and used within 72 hours.

It makes real sense here, because the park is large: three circuits plus the ecological train, and trying to do everything in one day means rushing. Full detail in Iguazú National Park entrance.

The circuits

Upper Circuit. Walkways above the falls, almost entirely flat, around 1.7 km. This is the panoramic one and the easiest to walk.

Lower Circuit. Descends close to the water and gives the view from below, with the falls above you. It has stairs.

Devil's Throat. Reached by ecological train to the final station, from where a walkway of about 1,100 m crosses the river to the viewpoint. It has been closed since 3 August 2026, with the structures dismantled as a precaution against the extraordinary flooding of the Iguaçu river. Context in Devil's Throat closed.

The ecological train is included in the ticket and links the Central, Cataratas and Garganta stations. The last departures towards the Throat run around 15:30, which in practice brings forward the end of the day for anyone relying on it.

Charged separately

Gran Aventura, the boat ride into the base of the falls on the Argentine side, is not in the ticket: Gran Aventura.

Getting there from Foz

Cross the Tancredo Neves bridge and follow the RN-12. No app does the international crossing: your options are your own car, an international bus or a border taxi. See does Uber work at the Triple Frontier.

The bridge hour decides the day: the measured peak is between 17:00 and 19:00, with a median delay of +30 to +39 minutes on weekdays. Leave early and return before that, or after 20:30. Measurement at bridge queue.

Brazilian or Argentine side: which to choose

They are not substitutes. The Brazilian side gives the panorama of the whole set in half a day; the Argentine side puts you inside the falls and needs a full day. The comparison is in which side of the falls is better.
