How to visit Iguazu Falls on the Argentine side (Puerto Iguazú)

Direct answer: The Argentine-side falls are in Iguazú National Park, 18 km from Puerto Iguazú. The ticket includes the Ecological Rainforest Train, linking the Central, Cataratas and Garganta del Diablo stations. You walk the Upper Circuit (high walkways, panoramic views, ~1.7 km, mostly flat) and the Lower Circuit (views from below), and reach the Devil's Throat by train + a ~1,100 m walkway. Allow 4 hours or the full day. Note (2026): the Devil's Throat is temporarily closed for walkway works — the rest of the park stays open.

Dated notice: since August 2026, the Devil's Throat walkway (Argentine side) is closed for removal/reinstallation after the flood; reopening expected by late 2026. The Upper and Lower circuits and the Brazilian side remain open. Confirm before you go.

Getting there

From Puerto Iguazú to the park gate is about 18 km. Go by bus, taxi or car. From Foz, cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge and head to the Argentine park.

The circuits

• Upper Circuit: walkways above the falls, mostly flat, with panoramic views — great for photos.
• Lower Circuit: goes down near the water, a different perspective.
• Devil's Throat: by ecological train to the final station and a walkway over the river (closed in 2026 — see the notice above and the Devil's Throat and train guide).

Tips

Bring closed shoes, a rain poncho, sunscreen, repellent and water. Go early; see when to go and the rainbow chance.
