Credit will appear on residential and rural electricity bills in July
The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) announced on Thursday, June 25, that R$ 767.2 million will be distributed as an Itaipu bonus in 2026. The vote on the matter takes place on June 30 (Tuesday).

The amount comes from the positive balance of Itaipu's Electricity Commercialization Account. The Brazilian Company for Nuclear and Binational Energy Participation (ENBPar) will transfer the funds to electricity distributors, with the transfer scheduled between July 20 and 24, 2026.
The credit will be applied through the Itaipu Bonus Tariff of R$ 0.00657324/kWh on energy bills. Brazilian residential and rural consumers who recorded consumption below 350 kilowatt-hours (kWh) in at least one month of 2025 are eligible for the benefit.
