Hotels specifically moved from 42% (2021) to 58% (2022), 67% (2023), 65% (2024) and 68% (2025). Guesthouses varied between 43% (2021), 48% (2022), 74% (2023), 67% (2024) and 70% (2025).
Long weekend boosts demand
The Independence Day holiday at the beginning of the month generated an average occupancy of 92%, above the initial projection of 88%, according to SMTU data.
Research methodology
The survey included participation from 99 of the 111 lodging establishments in the regular monitoring panel, representing a response rate of 89%. The Statistics and Tourist Studies Division of SMTU conducts this monthly monitoring to track occupancy behavior in Foz do Iguaçu.
