Hotel das Cataratas ranks 77th in best hotels list

The ranking was compiled by the The World's 50 Best Hotels Academy, a panel of more than 800 independent industry experts. In this edition, the voting period was extended to three years—a change that, according to the organization, increases the number of hotels considered by voters, including those that left an impression on visitors longer ago.

The extended list, which gathers one hundred hotels from six continents, had its first edition in 2025 and now reaches its second. According to Faye Huggett, community director of The World's 50 Best Hotels, all listed properties earned their positions through Academy votes.

The Hotel das Cataratas operates within the area of Iguaçu National Park, a conservation unit managed by ICMBio that covers approximately 185,000 hectares of protected forest. Guests of the property have access to Iguaçu Falls and the park trails before opening and after closing to the public.

Pedro Perestrelo, general manager of the hotel, said the recognition reinforces the importance of Foz do Iguaçu as a benchmark destination in global tourism.

The listed hotels will be honored at the fourth edition of The World's 50 Best Hotels Awards, scheduled for September 15, at the Salles du Carrousel in Paris.
