Iguazu Falls operates with all circuits open

During the second week of winter vacation in the country, Iguazú National Park received a large number of visitors in Puerto Iguazú. Rumors about a supposed extraordinary rise in water levels generated concern among tourists in the early hours of July 14, but authorities from the Cataratas Area quickly denied them: all three circuits and trails were operating with absolute normality.

Official hydrological data confirmed that the Iguazú River was carrying 3,660 m³/s in the Cataratas zone, with a downward trend. Local operators reaffirmed that the situation was safe and that there was complete tranquility, as the flow was well below the threshold that would require activation of the preventive protocol for closing the Devil's Throat walkways.

The flow of visitors reflected a pattern of high occupancy in the region. On the previous long weekend, the park received more than 23,000 visitors. According to data from the local hotel sector, average occupancy reached 85% of available capacity, representing an increase of approximately 14% compared to the same period in the winter season of the previous year.

The staggered distribution of school vacations among the country's 24 provinces guaranteed a continuous flow of tourists over almost a month. Between July 13 and 24, twenty provinces were going through the winter recess period, distributing demand and avoiding saturation of services.
