Private infrastructure will improve passenger boarding and disembarking on rivers

Puerto Iguazú, Argentina, has received authorization to install a floating dock for river tourist excursions. The structure, measuring 29.90 meters long and 10 meters wide, will be operated by La Gran Aventura Náutica and should be ready to receive a new catamaran in the coming days.

The Undersecretariat of Transport, Ports, Airports and Communication Networks of Misiones authorized the installation through Disposition 100, dated September 11. The dock will be used for passenger boarding and disembarking on cabotage trips in Argentine jurisdictional waters.

The structure has 1 meter of draft (height) and will be installed in the port jurisdiction of Puerto Iguazú. Before operating, it will need to pass final inspection and obtain the Safety Certificate, as required by the Argentine Naval Prefecture. The agency has already expressed approval of the installation and will remain responsible for inspection, control and verification of navigation safety.

La Gran Aventura Náutica is responsible for structural maintenance, compliance with safety measures and insurance coverage. The company submitted documentation with the planned location, anchorage sector, general plan of the structure and insurance coverage.

The authorization is part of the provincial policy to strengthen river tourism activities and incorporate private investments in Misiones ports. The dock complements Puerto Iguazú's tourism infrastructure, which has Iguazu Falls as its main attraction, but also offers excursions, navigation and experiences related to the region's rivers.
