To get from Foz do Iguaçu to Ciudad del Este, you can take the international bus at the TTU (downtown Foz), go by car or taxi to the Friendship Bridge and cross on foot — it's a 550-meter crossing with a protected walkway, about 15 minutes walking. Bring your RG in good condition, your CIN or passport.
By bus: at the TTU (Urban Transport Terminal), in downtown Foz, there's the urban "Ponte da Amizade" line — get off at the stop before the bridge and cross on foot — and the international line, on the outer side of the terminal, which goes through customs and drops you in Ciudad del Este.
On foot: many people go by car, taxi or Uber to near the Friendship Bridge and cross on foot. The bridge is 550 meters long and has a protected pedestrian walkway; the crossing takes ~15 minutes. From the end of the bridge to Ciudad del Este's shopping center it's another 15-20 minutes on foot (or by mototaxi, common on both sides).
By car: possible, but the customs line can be long at peak hours and on weekends — those going just to shop usually prefer to cross on foot.
Documents: RG in good condition, CIN or passport (CNH is not valid). Day shopping trips usually don't go through migration control, but you must have your document with you.
Timing tip: CDE's shops open early and bridge traffic builds up through the morning — the earlier, the better.
