Brazilian builder studies convention center in CDE

Senatur minister highlighted the strategic importance of the project, noting Paraguay’s growth as a destination for international events and its rise in the meetings tourism ranking, moving from 12th to 6th place in the Latin America and Caribbean region, though still facing capacity constraints.

João Luiz Félix, president of JL Construction, said the company is reviewing investment opportunities in Ciudad del Este, studying the construction of a convention center with a hotel. The initiative is in an evaluation phase, with plans to present a preliminary design to assess development possibilities, and the scale of the project will depend on technical studies. Félix emphasized the positive conditions observed in Paraguay, such as security, political stability, and strong return prospects.

The goal is to understand the venture’s viability and the incentives that could facilitate its development, with coordination between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Senatur to monitor this type of investment.
