Copel begins on Wednesday, August 19, the removal of irregular cables and wires on avenues in Foz do Iguaçu, following demands identified by the Public Lighting Department of the City Hall. The schedule extends to the end of the year, with phases on different streets.
The City Hall of Foz do Iguaçu detected fallen and improperly installed cables on major avenues of the city and forwarded removal requests to the concessionaire.
The services include removal of cables, wires, steel ropes and equipment that do not comply with current technical standards. According to the municipal administration, the actions increase safety for pedestrians, motorcyclists and cyclists, as well as improve the appearance of the streets.
The first phase takes place this week on Jorge Schimmelpfeng and Paraná avenues, along their entire length. Work will continue in other areas according to the schedule: Silvio Sasdelli and Gramado avenues (Sept 8-11); JK Avenue (Oct 19-23); Cataratas Avenue (Nov 23-27); and República Argentina Avenue (Dec 14-18).
Copel has already carried out similar actions in the municipality in partnership with the City Hall. According to the administration, the initiative responds to resident requests submitted through the city’s official channels.
