Foz do Iguaçu represented in international tourism award

Foz do Iguaçu is once again appearing among the international references in tourism journalism. The World Organization of Tourism Journalism (OMPT) released the list of nominees for the Pasaporte Abierto Generación Dorada 2026 Award, a commemorative edition marking the organization’s 15th anniversary, which will gather the winners of the previous eleven editions in Campos do Jordão (SP) from November 23 to 30.

The 100fronteiras Group, a outlet based in the city and specialized in coverage of the Triple Frontier, is among the nominees in the Specialized Media in Tourism Generación Dorada category, alongside outlets from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain. In this edition, all nominees have already won awards in previous OMPT contests.

The nomination resumes a trajectory that began in 2022, when, at the 6th edition of the award held in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, 100fronteiras Group secured first place in the specialized tourism media category, ahead of outlets from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Argentina, and Brazil. At that time, journalist Annie Grellmann represented the outlet with support from Visit Iguassu.
