Luzia Wieczorek, from Puerto Iguazú, wins contest in Ciudad del Este
Luzia Wieczorek, representing Puerto Iguazú in Argentina, was crowned Trinational Tourism Queen 2026 at a ceremony held on Saturday, August 15, in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay. The competition brought together candidates from Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay to promote regional integration and tourist attractions.

The election took place at the Convention Center of the Hotel Marambaia, with participation from social and tourism sector representatives of the three border cities: Puerto Iguazú, Foz do Iguaçu and Ciudad del Este.
Three candidates vied for the title: Luzia Wieczorek (Argentina), Nicole Nuez (Brazil) and Karen Selena (Paraguay). After the evaluation stages, Wieczorek received the top crown, while Karen Selena was named First Princess.
The contest goes beyond a traditional beauty pageant. According to the organizers, it aims to serve as a showcase for tourism, culture and integration of the Triple Frontier—an area where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay share not only a geographic border but daily coexistence. The representatives act as promoters of each city’s attractions and identity, in a context where visitors cross borders daily to combine nature, gastronomy, shopping, entertainment and culture.
The event is part of the International Beauty Pageant Circuit 2026, organized by Foz em Destaque. The next circuit stage is scheduled for September 19 in Brazil.
