Integration Bridge: new rules from August 3

Government expands operations between Foz do Iguaçu and Paraguay
The Integration Bridge, which connects Foz do Iguaçu (PR) to Presidente Franco (Paraguay), enters a new operational phase starting August 3, 2026. The Brazilian‑Paraguayan Mixed Commission announced changes that broaden the use of the structure for trucks, urban buses and tourism transport.

The second road link between Brazil and Paraguay will undergo changes that reorganize vehicle flow. Smaller trucks may travel empty across the Integration Bridge between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., returning loaded via the Friendship Bridge. During the night period (8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.), those same trucks will have an extended crossing window.
Buses that run the Foz do Iguaçu–Puerto Presidente Franco route will be allowed to use the Integration Bridge in both directions between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., upon presenting the Border Vicinal Transit Document. Chartered tourism buses and regular international lines (except those whose final destination is Foz do Iguaçu or Ciudad del Este) will have exclusive 24‑hour circulation on the new bridge.
The Integration Bridge was designed to distribute the intense traffic of the Friendship Bridge, one of the busiest international crossings in South America. Implementation is proceeding gradually by agreement between Brazilian and Paraguayan authorities, consolidating the structure as a strategic corridor for foreign trade and regional mobility.
