Integration Bridge: new schedule for trucks between Paraguay and Brazil

Operating hours

The new schedule took effect on September 16, 2026. Large trucks in ballast now have an 11-hour window to cross the border at night, between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. The expansion aims to reduce daytime congestion and optimize the flow of goods.

Light vehicles and private cars may travel from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., but with a restriction: only residents of Ciudad del Este, Presidente Franco and Hernandarias (Paraguay), as well as Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil).

Required documentation

Drivers and passengers in light vehicles must present the Cross-Border Vicinal Traffic Document (TVF), as required by the Agreement on Linked Border Localities of Mercosur. This requirement is essential to ensure safety and order at the crossing.

Smaller loads and return trips

Smaller-volume cargo transports can use the Integration Bridge between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The return trip with merchandise must be made via the Friendship Bridge, another border infrastructure in the region. Freight dispatches remain restricted, except for subsistence items, according to current agreements.

Context

The Paraguay-Brazil Joint Commission confirmed that the remaining operating rules and traffic modalities stay unchanged. The change reflects efforts to facilitate bilateral trade and improve logistical efficiency within Mercosur.
